HOWIE Mandel is a familiar face to many as a judge on America’s Got Talent and the former host of Deal or No Deal. However, when he’s not in the spotlight, he spends his time at home with his wife of over 40 years, Terry.
The couple tied the knot on March 16, 1980, and have been together ever since. Terry Mandel is not just known as the wife of the famous television personality, but she is also a TV producer and talent agent. She has worked alongside Howie on various projects, including as an associate producer on a TV special in 1985.
Together, Howie and Terry own The Abstract Talent Agency, based in Los Angeles, California. The couple first met in high school at a local youth center, where Terry lent Howie money to buy french fries. Despite Terry turning him down initially, they eventually started dating, and their first date was at a movie theater.
Howie and Terry have three children – two daughters and one son. Their eldest daughter, Jackelyn Shultz, spoke openly about her struggles with anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder, which she shares with her father. The pair emphasized the importance of finding ways to cope with mental health issues and seeking help when needed.
Despite their challenges, the Mandel family remains strong, with Howie and Jackelyn supporting each other through their mental health journeys. Their openness about their experiences aims to erase the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage others to seek help when needed.
