Ghanaian actor Omar Sherrif Captan has shown his commitment to upping the ante in Ghana’s theater industry.
Recognizing the growing interest in theatre, Captan emphasized the importance of improving sets and realism in productions during the press launch of Latif Abubakar’s new play ‘The Licence.’
Captan stressed the need for quality sets, costumes, and props to enhance the audience’s experience.
He mentioned the necessity of creating realistic environments on stage by incorporating real props like cars, bikes, horses, and animals.
Captan expressed his enthusiasm for being part of an Afrocentric adaptation of Luigi Pirandello’s work, set to debut at the Accra International Conference Center in May 2024.
The actor revealed that the play, which is being adapted into an Afrocentric version for the first time by him and the team at Globe Productions Limited, will run from the 4th to the 6th of May, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Center.
With his support for enhancing productivity and realism in Ghana’s theatre scene, Captan is paving the way for a more immersive and captivating theatrical experience for audiences.
