Renowned gospel musician, Apostle Lenny Akpadie, has criticized fellow musician MOG Music for his recent comments on Ghana’s anti-LGBTQ+ bill.
In a recent interview on UTV, MOG Music stated that he did not want to take a stance on the controversial bill, citing that he preferred to remain neutral to protect his image.
However, Apostle Lenny Akpadie expressed his firm opposition to the LGBTQ+ community, emphasizing that it goes against his personal beliefs and that he stands against it as a servant of God.
He highlighted that many gospel musicians avoid discussing such controversial topics due to fears of potential disruptions to their travel plans abroad.
The Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, also known as the Anti-LGBTQ+ bill, was passed by parliament in February and is currently awaiting President Akufo-Addo’s approval to become law.
This ongoing debate reflects the diverse views within the Ghanaian music industry and society as a whole on this contentious issue.
