Lance Bass recently opened up about his diabetes diagnosis during the COVID-19 pandemic and how he is managing the condition. In an interview with People magazine, the NSYNC member shared that he is now more conscious of his eating habits and has been learning about what foods to eat, when to eat, and when to take his insulin. Managing his diabetes has been challenging for Bass, but he is prioritizing his health by focusing on his diet and exercise routine.
Apart from watching his diet, Bass emphasized the importance of regular exercise in handling his diabetes. He mentioned that as he gets older, he understands the significance of taking care of his body, and working out has become a key part of his routine. Despite a busy schedule, Bass has set up a home gym to ensure he can fit in short workouts throughout the day.
This is not the first time Bass has publicly discussed his health challenges. In a previous interview with Eating Well in November 2023, he talked about his journey with diabetes and the changes he has made to improve his health, including staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Bass also shared a post on Instagram in June 2023, where he mentioned his diabetes diagnosis.
In addition to diabetes, Bass has dealt with psoriatic arthritis, which was diagnosed in 2017. He initially ignored the signs of the condition, attributing the pain to his career as a dancer. Despite these health challenges, Bass has remained active in the entertainment industry, participating in NSYNC reunions and collaborating on various musical projects.
