Minister for Roads and Highways and Member of Parliament for Bantama constituency, Francis Asenso-Boakye, recently declared that former President John Mahama is not prepared for the presidency.

Asenso-Boakye’s comments were in response to Mr. Mahama’s recent remarks about needing a “honeymoon period” if elected in 2025, which he interpreted as a sign of unpreparedness and reluctance to immediately tackle the nation’s challenges.

During a New Patriotic Party (NPP) gathering in the Savanna region, Asenso-Boakye emphasized the readiness of Vice President Dr. Bawumia, the NPP’s presidential candidate for the December election, and urged Ghanaians to elect him as the next president.

He cited Dr. Bawumia’s active engagement in governance and called for the nation’s support in addressing the challenges facing Ghana.

Asenso-Boakye criticized Mr. Mahama, stating that his remarks about needing a “honeymoon period” indicated a lack of preparedness for the presidency.

He further emphasized the urgency of addressing the nation’s challenges and expressed confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s ability to immediately address these issues with bold solutions.

The event also featured notable NPP officials and the acclamation of Samuel Abu Jinapor as the party’s parliamentary candidate for Damongo.

Asenso-Boakye commended Jinapor as a dedicated young leader and urged voters to support him in the 2024 elections for the continued development of the region.

In closing, Asenso-Boakye urged Ghanaians to recognize the NPP’s track record of development and to support the party’s candidates in the upcoming elections.
