Speaker calls for equal recognition for all key players in Ghana’s independence struggle

The Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Oquaye has underscored the need for Ghana to bring to the fore the contributions of the various protagonists who played key roles to steer the country to independence. Speaking at the first lecture of Ghana@60 years on in Accra, Professor Mike Oquaye said gallant men such as John Mensah Sarbah, Jacob Wilson-Sey, J.P Brown, George Alfred Grant, Dr J.B Danquah, Edward Akufo-Addo, R.S. Blay, John Tobi, Kwabena Kesse, Dr Ebenezer Ako-Adjei who conceived the idea of the nation Ghana, on 4 August, 1947, must equally be given their proper recognition for their roles.
