This is a clip of Hohoe, in the Volta Region of Ghana. The clip shows my friend driving through the town along the main road, heading back to Accra, with me filming. It starts roughly from just south of the bridge across the Diya River, which is in the northern part of town. We drive through the centre of town, past the large Ghana Commercial Bank branch, and are cut off by a taxi right near the Hohoe Market. The road was so full of potholes, and drivers were often driving on the “English/Australian” side of the road, hence my comment which can be heard in the audio clip saying it’s like they practicing for when they migrate to Australia. My friend’s rendition of a tro-tro driver’s mate calling out the destination is pretty good.
