Ghana’s third commercial oil field pours oil

Ghana’s third commercial oil field, the Sankofa-Gye Nyame, was ceremonially commissioned to pour its first oil on Thursday.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who did the official commission turned the valves on the Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) John Agyekum Kufuor for production to commence also opened a Subsea Well Choke and unveiled a plaque to commemorate the ceremonial event, followed by a grand durbar of chiefs, government officials and other dignitaries at the shore base in Takoradi, 218 km west of the capital.
