Ghana’s First Satellite Propels Africa Into The Space Race

When you think of the African nation of Ghana, “satellite” may not be the first word that comes to mind…until now. According to Geek.com, Africa has entered the space race. Ghana’s first satellite, launched into space in June, is now operational. The CubeSat miniaturized satellite, called GhanaSat-1, was built by at All Nations University College with support from the Japanese Birds program. Ghana-Sat 1 will transmit a signal to a ground station at the college’s Space Systems and Technology Laboratory.
