To accelerate economic growth, Ghana needs a green growth strategy. The Ghana Climate Innovation Center was launched to help entrepreneurs develop clean technology companies that fight climate change and create jobs in the community.
The Ghana Climate Innovation Center offers seed financing, market connections, technical and business training, and policy interventions.
The center is an initiative of the World Bank’s Climate Technology Program, which has launched a network of Climate Innovation Centers in the Caribbean, Ethiopia, Kenya, Morocco, South Africa, and Vietnam: www.infodev.org/climate
Supported by the governments of Denmark and the Netherlands, the center will be managed by a consortium led by Ashesi University, with Ernst & Young, SNV Netherlands Development Organization, and the United Nations University Institute for Natural Resources in Africa.
