I Won MTN Hitmaker But I Wasn’t Nominated As Best Male Vocalist In The 2018 VGMAs

Prior to the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs), Hiplife artiste Kurl Songx in an interview with Delay voiced with confidence that he deserves to be awarded as the best male vocalist in the pending VGMAs.

Surprisingly, the name Kurl Songx was nowhere to be found when Charterhouse, organisers of Ghana Music Awards, unveiled the names of artistes who made it into the category of best male vocalist of the year under review.

The exclusion of Jennifer Lomotey hitmaker, Kurl Songx in the aforementioned category is driving the artiste insane as he can’t fathom why his name got missing from the category. According to him, he stands above all those nominated in that category so was surprised his name was left out of that category. For clarity sake, Joe Mettle, King Promise, KiDi, Kuami Eugene, Mugeez and Samini were considered over the expense of Kurl Songx.

“I want to ask why I didn’t make it to the male Vocalist category… Are they saying that I’m not vocally talented, if I’m not then why did I win MTN Hitmaker in 2016. I’m not happy about these things. When You listened to Jennifer Lomotey, can you tell me that the voice content wasn’t a top-notch.” He told Andy Dosty on Hitz FM.
