Gospel artiste, Ernest Nii-Okai Okai, popularly known as Minister NiiOkai, is forty years and as such has set a foundation to save forty people with cardiovascular disease.
The foundation dubbed “40 Hearts Campaign” is aimed at funding forty heart surgeries as well as medical expenses that may accrue.
Minister Nii Okai who is also known for his hit album, “Moko Be” on the occasion of “MokoBe’s” 10th anniversary launched the “Saving Hearts Project”, where ten open heart surgeries for ten under privileged children across the ten regions of Ghana was performed.
Speaking at the launch of the foundation in Accra, Minister Nii Okai said as part of his 40th birthday, he will also release his latest album entitled “Yesu Hi” which is his 6th album to grace the occasion.
“We live in a society where many suffer from various cardiovascular diseases and as much as access to healthcareremains a challenge, most cannot afford the cost of treatment, especially when it involves surgical intervention.
We must laud the sterling efforts of the National Cardiothoracic Centre which has served not only Ghana but the entire sub-region and saved many lives and certainly the Ghana Heart Foundation which has helped bridge the gap with respect to affordability”, he added.
There will be an official “40 Hearts and 6th Album Release Concert” on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the Lighthouse Chapel International Morning Star Cathedral Sakumono at 4pm to raise funds for the project.
Minister Nii Okai expressed profound gratitude to his colleagues in the industry, Joe Mettle, Kodah, King Zuta, Uncle Ato amongst others for the tremendous support.
