Tension at Jomoro as man dies in Police custody – Starr Fm

The Western regional Police Commander DCOP Kwesi Duku has stormed the Jomoro township  of Half Assini over a  seeming standoff between some angry residents and the Police.

The residents reportedly besieged the Police station and damaged properties Wednesday morning following the death 45-year-old Yaw Esuaba, who was in custody.

The deceased who was arrested for allegedly stealing from a  shop was denied bail by the police until his death.

Several attempts by his relatives to secure him bail failed.

The Police commander has visited the area to resolve the growing tension between the law enforcers and the locals.
