Incensed youth of Okurasi in the Upper West Akyem  District of the Eastern region nearly lynched  a man for allegedly having sex with his friend’s wife.

Kwabena Koomson was caught red-handed in the act with the married woman Tuesday.

The angry youth enraged by what they described as the attitude of the suspect , massed up  at his  house with clubs, forced open his doors, but was prevented from the mob attack by the assemblyman for the area who arrived in time to save the situation.

This is the third time Mr. Koomson has been caught sleeping  with married women, the residents said.

The Assembly Man for the community who is also a brother to the affected husband, Isaac Akpakudi, managed to whisk the suspect away from the mob.

The two men were dragged before elders of the community for hearing .

The Mmaratohene of the community, Nana Yaw Amenyenu, who presided over the matter said this is the third time the suspect has been accused of such an offence.

He said the elders will meet and prescribe sanctions in line with the Akan taboos and culture and then hand the suspect over to the Police.

Speaking to the media, the husband of the cheating wife, popularly known as Small Baya, said he has been suspecting his wife, with whom he has three children, of infidelity for over a month before he caught her in the act.

However, a sister to the woman, Nafisa,  said  her sister has been lamenting that the husband does not take good care of her, compelling her to have extra marital affairs .
