Fire has gutted the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel near the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation in Accra.
It is unclear what sparked the fire but several fire tenders have been dispatched to the premises by the Ghana National Fire service along with personnel.
Several properties are believed to have gone down in flames in the building that partly serves as an office to GN Bank. Both companies are owned by business magnate and politician Papa Kwesi Nduom.
Thick smoke is still bellowing out of the building in spite of the efforts by personnel of the fire service to bring the flame under control.
The fire is reported to have extended to the office of the Ghana Immigration service, which within the same enclave.
