Family of Lebanese ‘rapist’ ejected from Airport residence


The family of the Lebanese national, Haddad Rabih arrested on rape charges have been thrown out of their rented apartment at the Airport hills, Starrfmonline.com has gathered.

The estate agency, according to Starrfmonline.com sources ordered the family to vacate the apartment even though they had fully paid their rent.

Speaking to Starrfmonline.com in an interview, the wife of Mr. Rabih, Mona described her experience as chilling.

According to her, the incident occurred around 7am Thursday and that the landlord locked her out when she returned from dropping her child to school.

Asked if she was given any explanation, she said before the disturbing incident she was given a three-month notice to leave the apartment by the lessor.

“But the owner wants me outside the house immediately,” she disclosed.

She said she has lodged a complaint at the East Legon Police who dispatched with her some of its officers to her apartment in order to secure her access to her apartment.

Several attempts by Starrfmonline.com to reach the lessor has proved futile.

Background

The 39-year-old Lebanese national was arrested few days earlier for allegedly raping his 19-year-old househelp at his Airport Hills residence.

He was arrested Sunday around 11:45pm by the East Legon District Police Command.

According to reports, the 39-year-old Haddah Rabih forcibly had sex with the victim around 5pm on Saturday in the absence of his wife and other occupants of his household after subjecting her to ruthless beatings.

Bail application rejected

Mr. Rabih was remanded into police custody Tuesday December 5, for two weeks by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly Court.

He is to reappear in court on December 19, 2017 after being charged with rape.

Attempts to secure bail for Mr. Rabih by his lawyer Raphael Poku-Edusei Wednesday failed.

The bail application was thrown out by the court on the basis that it lacked jurisdiction to grant bail.
