Some irate Prestea Youth have ordered the Golden Star Mining Company to employ indigenes or face their wrath.
The youth have given the mining company a week ultimatum to stop recruiting non-indigenes.
According to Kwame Kyei Addo, Secretary of the Himan Students Union of Prestea-Himan, the youth have been taken for granted.
The youth have since called on government and traditional authorities to intervene.
“The company have taken the youth in the mining areas for granted and we cannot sit down for people from other parts of the country to come and do what we have been trained to do better.
“We are giving the company a week ultimatum to attend to the issues raised above otherwise we the youth will advise ourselves accordingly,” he added.
