In response to the unfortunate necessity of commencing a strike action, Mr. Donkor lamented the consequences for innocent students. He also highlighted the urgency of the financial needs of the lecturers, many of whom are also parents of students requiring funds to pay school fees.

He further disclosed that pensioners have been affected by the delay in salary payments, as their children also require financial support for education and living expenses. Despite the ongoing strike, Mr. Donkor remains hopeful that the matter will be resolved soon.

The continuing dialogue between the government and the University Senior Staff Association signifies progress in addressing the salary arrears issue and brings hope to lecturers and their families.
