Renowned Ghanaian gospel singer Sonnie Badu, who currently resides in the US, has made a startling revelation about the American gospel music industry.

In an interview with Accra FM, the main pastor of Rockhill Church in Atlanta, USA, claimed that a significant number of American gospel musicians and pastors identify as LGBTQI+ individuals.

According to Sonnie Badu, approximately 78% of American gospel musicians and pastors are involved in LGBTQI+ activities. He expressed his concerns about the impact of the LGBTQI+ agenda on society, noting that it permeates various sectors such as the media, school system, and entertainment industry.

The gospel singer also mentioned that subtle messages promoting the LGBTQI+ agenda are being conveyed in seemingly innocent cartoons, which is why he has banned such content in his home. He emphasized the need for parents to be vigilant and protect their children from the influence of these messages.

Sonnie Badu’s comments come at a time when the Anti-LGBTQ+ bill in Ghana has been passed by Parliament and is awaiting Presidential assent. However, two suits have been filed at the Supreme Court challenging the constitutionality of the bill. In light of the pending suits, President Akufo-Addo has instructed Parliament to hold off on transmitting the bill to him for presidential assent until the Supreme Court provides clarity on the matter.

The President has urged Parliament to wait for the final decision of the Supreme Court before taking any further action on the bill. This development underscores the ongoing debate and legal challenges surrounding the issue of LGBTQI+ rights in Ghana.
