The purpose of the visit was twofold: to formally introduce the newly elected SPMDP executive to the leadership of the Ghana Health Service and to explore avenues of collaboration to advance national health objectives.

During the meeting, both parties engaged in fruitful discussions on a range of topics, including public health services, information collation systems, network of practice models, and human resource management.

It was evident from the discourse that there existed mutual areas of concern and shared goals in enhancing healthcare delivery across the nation.

Following the deliberations, the SPMDP and Ghana Health Service agreed to deepen their cooperation, extending it to the regional, district, and sub-district levels. This commitment reflects a concerted effort to leverage the expertise and resources of both public and private healthcare sectors to address the complex challenges facing the health system.

Dr. Kwasi-Kumah expressed optimism about the prospects of collaboration, emphasizing the importance of synergies between the SPMDP and the Ghana Health Service in achieving universal healthcare coverage and improving health outcomes for all citizens.

In response, Dr. Kuma-Aboagye commended the SPMDP for its proactive approach and affirmed the Ghana Health Service’s readiness to work closely with the private sector towards a common goal of ensuring accessible, affordable, and high-quality healthcare services nationwide.
