Royal cosy hills hotel owner, Eric Johnson, dies

The Upper West Region has been thrown into mourning following the death of Mr. Eric Johnson, the owner of the Royal Cosy Hills Hotel, also known as Jirapa Dubai.

Reports have indicated that Mr. Johnson was murdered by unknown assailants on Sunday, February 11, leaving the entire community in shock.

Confirming the tragic incident, journalist Mornah Banung-kae Kennedy expressed his sadness on social media, questioning how the community had come to this point. The police are yet to release any information on the incident, leaving the community in a state of unease.

Mr. Eric Johnson was not just a successful entrepreneur, but also the CEO of the Royal Cosy Hill Hotel and Resort. According to its website, the hotel offers visitors “the unique opportunity to explore a previously-unexplored parts of Upper West Region in style.” Mr. Johnson was also passionate about developing deprived areas, stating that he decided to establish the hotel in Jirapa to create employment for the youth and boost the local economy through tourism.

While the region mourns the loss of Mr. Johnson, it is evident that his contributions to the local economy and the promotion of tourism have been recognized. The Royal Cosy Hills Hotel, fondly dubbed ‘Jirapa Dubai,’ was awarded by the Ministry of Tourism for its significant role in promoting tourism in the Upper West Region.

The passing of Mr. Johnson has undoubtedly left a void in the region, and his legacy as a successful entrepreneur and visionary leader will be remembered by all who knew him.
