Actress Martha Ankomah is standing firm in her decision not to withdraw her defamation suit against fellow actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win.

The Ghanaian actress took legal action against Lil Win last month after he made derogatory remarks about her.

In an interview with Accra-based UTV, Martha emphasized that the case has not been withdrawn from court and she expects the court to take appropriate action against LilWin for his statements.

“I have not withdrawn the suit because I believe in the rule of law. You cannot insult someone and get away with it. As role models, we must set good examples for others to follow. It takes years to build a brand so I took this matter to court. It’s not a joke,” Martha said.

“If the court doesn’t hold him accountable, it sets a bad example for future generations to think they can say anything about people,” she added.

Martha Ankomah is seeking damages amounting to five million Ghana cedis from Lil Win for the defamatory comments he made against her.

In response to the lawsuit, LilWin posted a video on his Instagram page reiterating that being sued does not equate to being guilty of the alleged offense.

“As the final arbiter of the law, the Court is charged with ensuring the Ghanaian people the promise of equal justice under the law. Long live Ghana Movie. Thus me #Lilwin #wezzyempire,” he captioned.

The feud between Martha Ankomah and Lil Win stemmed from an interview the actress gave on Accra FM last year, where she expressed her disappointment in the decline of quality in Kumawood movies.

In response, Lil Win criticized Martha for her comments in a TikTok live session, questioning her status as a star and the reasons behind her being chosen as a brand ambassador for GTP.
