The Philip C. Jessup Moot Competition is the world’s preeminent Moot Court Competition, drawing participation from about 700 teams representing approximately 100 nations annually. Regarded as the “World Cup of International Law,” it is also the oldest Moot Court Competition exclusively dedicated to International Law. This competition is a simulation of a fictional dispute between countries before the International Court of Justice. Ghana made its debut participation in the Jessup Competition in 1977.

The 2024 Jessup case concerns traitors and crooks. Participating institutions will argue issues relating to the right to political expression, statelessness, the right to a nationality, and the scope of the United Nations Security Council’s authority in the pacific settlement of disputes.
