High-class sporting facilities built for African games will serve Ghana well after the games – Akufo-Addo

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has expressed his excitement about the state-of-the-art facilities that the country will be using to host the upcoming African Games.

Ghana is set to welcome athletes from across the continent for the 13th edition of the African Games in March.

During his State of the Nation Address on Tuesday, February 27, President Akufo-Addo highlighted the readiness of the country to host the prestigious sporting event.

He stated, “It brings me great joy to announce that all preparations have been completed for Ghana to welcome athletes from all over the continent to participate in the 13th African Games. It is remarkable that Ghana is hosting these games for the first time.”

The President also expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the sporting facilities, noting that they will continue to benefit Ghana long after the conclusion of the African Games.

“Despite facing financial challenges during the preparations, we have shown resilience in our decision to host the games. I am pleased with the outcome,” President Akufo-Addo remarked.

He added, “I was impressed with the facilities at Borteyman when I visited to commission the Games village two weeks ago. These top-notch sporting facilities will be a valuable asset for our country even after the games have concluded.”

The 13th African Games are scheduled to commence in Accra on March 8.
