The King of Dagbon, Yaa-Naa Abukari II, has urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Mahama, to continuously reshuffle his appointees in order to assemble the best human resources to run his government if elected.

The king believes this is the best approach for Mahama to achieve his objectives and make a successful comeback in 2025. Speaking on his behalf on February 5, Yaa-Naa said Ghanaians would not forgive Mr Mahama if he fails to present a competent government.

Yaa-Naa advised, “When you get the nod from Ghanaians, do not shy away from reshuffling your team to get the right ones on board by merits and competence and lay off even loyalists but misfits who will only churn out mediocrity for your government.”

He emphasized the importance of having a competent cabinet and urged Mahama to focus on building a legacy rather than amassing wealth for his family and friends.

In response, Mahama praised Yaa-Naa for playing a significant role in restoring peace in Dagbon and addressed the issue of insecurity. He also promised to complete the delayed water treatment facility, expressing disappointment that Yendi still lacked water supply years after his time in power.

The NDC flagbearer further held a town hall meeting at Yendi Senior High School, reinforcing his commitment to addressing the needs of the people.
