Former Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o has submitted his resignation to the Cameroon FA Executive Committee after the Indomitable Lions were knocked out of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in the round of 16.

However, the Committee has refused to accept his resignation and has expressed their belief in Eto’o to continue serving as president.

The decision comes after Cameroon suffered a 2-0 defeat to Nigeria in the round of 16, leading to criticism and pressure on Eto’o’s presidency.
