Viewers of “Blue Bloods” bid a heartfelt goodbye to Treat Williams, the beloved actor who portrayed Lenny Ross on the CBS series.

Lenny served as the best friend and former partner of New York Police Commissioner Frank Reagan, played by Tom Selleck, on the long-running procedural, which is currently in its 14th and final season.

Williams tragically passed away last June in a motorcycle accident at the age of 71, leaving fans mourning his loss.

The recent episode, titled “Fear No Evil,” revealed that Lenny had passed away after a heartbreaking encounter with his troubled daughter, Tess, played by Simone Policano. In the storyline, Tess is arrested for fighting and opens up to Frank about her father’s battle with cancer, ultimately revealing his passing.

As Frank navigates whether to prosecute Tess for the fight, he contemplates his loyalty to Lenny and wrestles with the decision. Tess, in an effort to sway Frank, brings up Lenny’s friendship with him and questions if that bond will save her from being charged.

Frank responds with heartfelt words, “He was my best friend. And I’m gonna honor that by doing what’s best for his daughter,” indicating that he will follow the law.
