Dr Tiah Abdul-Kabiru Mahama, the Technical Advisor to the Vice President, has defended Dr Mahamudu Bawumia by saying he should not be labeled as a liar.

Speaking on The Pulse on JoyNews, Dr Mahama explained that a lie involves a deliberate misrepresentation of facts with no intention of fulfilling them.

He went on to assert that most of the promises made by the Vice President in the run-up to the 2016 elections were fulfilled except for a few.

Dr Mahama challenged individuals to identify a lie the Vice President told Ghanaians. He emphasized that most promises made by Dr Bawumia have been fulfilled, and people tend to focus only on the ones that have not been fully realized.

Furthermore, Dr Mahama stated that unfulfilled promises do not equate to lies and urged Ghanaians to question why certain promises have not materialized. He encouraged the public to refrain from jumping to conclusions and labeling the Vice President as a liar.

During his address on February 8, Dr Bawumia outlined his vision for the nation and announced several promises, including making National Service optional, abolishing the Electronic Transactions Levy, among others.

Dr Mahama’s comments come in response to the skepticism around the fulfillment of promises made by the Vice President. He stressed that it is essential to distinguish between unfulfilled promises and deliberate misinformation.
