A group of 37 Africans recently staged a protest at the headquarters of a UK-based media house over what they described as a “false and racist” report about the Ivory Coast-Senegal game.

The protesters, who were predominantly from Ivory Coast and Senegal, accused the media house of biased reporting and spreading misinformation about the match.

During the protest, the group demanded an apology and retraction of the article, which they claimed portrayed African football in a negative light and perpetuated harmful stereotypes.

Speaking to reporters, the protesters emphasized the importance of fair and accurate representation of African sports and called for greater sensitivity and cultural understanding in the coverage of African events.

The UK-based media house has not yet issued a response to the protest, but the demonstrators have vowed to continue their efforts until their concerns are addressed.

This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by African athletes and fans in combating negative portrayals and biases in the international media, and the importance of promoting a more balanced and inclusive narrative of African sports.
