Ghanaian prophet and politician Christian Kwabena Andrews, also known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, has thrown his weight behind Bishop Charles Agyin-Asare in the never-ending Nogokpo brouhaha.

It could be recalled that a few weeks ago, the founder and leader of Perez Chapel International used his pulpit to declare the Nokokpo township the ‘demonic headquarters in the Volta Region’.

His declaration didn’t go well with the elders and chiefs of the town who gave him a 14-day ultimatum to visit the town and formally offer his apologies.

The issue has been heavily discussed in the media, gaining massive publicity and remaining the centre of social media discourse for weeks.

Osofo Kyiri Abosom, who is ruthless with smaller gods, has waded in on the matter, encouraging his fellow preacher Agyin-Asare to remain steadfast in these trying times.

“14 days is nothing. If you have God and He is with you, why do you have to think about 14 days?” Kyiri Abosom quizzed MzGee on the ‘United Showbiz’ programme on United Television (UTV) on Saturday, June 10.

He acknowledged other powers apart from God but said Agyin-Asare should show respect to the elders by issuing an apology using the same medium he made the statement or having a closed-door meeting with the elders. He also advised him not to go to the town as it will be a dangerous adventure.

“However, sometimes, you need to show respect to the elders and chiefs of the town by having a closed-door meeting with them.

“It would be dangerous to step foot in the town for security reasons. But he can also use his pulpit to formally apologise to the people of Nogokpo. He shouldn’t go to the town,” he said.

He continued: “What we have is bigger than deities or gods. He has not offended any gods, in my opinion. I acknowledge there are principalities in this world; when one is not vigilant, one will lose a lot. But if you worship God and have clear conscience, this shouldn’t worry you.”

“His counter-statement apologising to the elders and chiefs of the town should be enough,” Kyiri Abosom added.
